The CYC Photon is a compact and lightweight mid-drive electric bike conversion kit. It builds on the success of the CYC X1 Pro and X1 Stealth with tuned control using a torque sensing bottom bracket to deliver pedal assistance that feels like a natural extension of your own effort.
 
With an enclosed helical gear design, the CYC Photon delivers up to 1200W and 110NM torque in a smaller, lighter, quieter package than the CYC X1 Stealth or X1 Pro models. The integrated motor/controller mounting hardware provides more room for adapting to your conventional bike than competing products making it more adaptable to modern bike frame design.
 
The CYC Photon is available with two display options. The SW102 Display is a small B&W screen with integrated controls and can be mounted on the right or left side. The DS103 display has a larger color screen which is typically mounted in the center and is operated with a separate button control module that can be mounted to either right or left sides of the handlebar.
 
The CYC Photon eBike conversion kit comes complete with everything needed to convert your convensional bike to an eBike with the exception of a battery pack. The Photon is compatible with battery packs between 36V to 52V using a XT90 female connector.
 
The package includes everything you need to convert your bike except the battery:

THE PHOTON BUILDS ON GEN 3 UPDATES
The X1 Pro and Stealth Gen 3 had a design overhaul with the intention of maintaining market leading power and torque while improving on convenience, reliablitiy and rider engagement. This complete overhaul made it possible to solve previous weaknesses thanks to rider feedback. 
 
ROTOR CORE & MOTOR 
With mechanically retained magnets inside the CYC motors, they are designed to reach high RPMs without failing under heat stress. Not only are the magnets mechanically secured but CYC used high grade quality magnets that can withstand up to 180 degrees Celsius. Much higher temps than the motor will reach during an aggressive ride.

CONTROLLER RELIABILITY AND PERFORMANCE
X1 gen 3 units are now paired with the X-series controller. The PAS and throttle experience have been refined. The following list of issues are addressed with the X-series controller.

TORQUE SENSOR TECHNOLOGY
New CYC motors are equipped with the Gen 3 torque sensing technology exclusively developed in-house by their team of engineers and riders. 
 
NATURAL, SMOOTH RIDING  
Equipped with their patent pending torque sensor module, CYC delivers a refined pedal assist system. The torque sensor module includes both a high sensitivity torque sensor strain gauge module and a cadence sensing module. The high number of poles of the cadence sensor ensures a high degree of control and sensitivity, allowing for fine-tuning of the firmware through rider inputs.
 
SEALED, INTEGRATED, & BUILT TO LAST 
The new Gen 3 PAS (pedal assist system) kits are integrated with the robust sprag clutch module so there's no external wiring that can get caught, bent, or accidentally snapped. The CYC PAS runs with both the torque and cadence signal collected and is processed by the controller to provide you with a pedal assist feeling like never before.  
 
ISIS SPLINED CRANKSET
Ensuring a durable crankset is crucial to any ebike. The new integrated torque sensing module has made it possible for CYC to include an ISIS splined crankset, ensuring no matter how hard you pedal, the crankset will stay secure. ​The bottom bracket bearings are now fully sealed to ensure maximum reliability with outdoor use.
 
WATER RESISTANT 
All the previous water ingress point has been sealed properly with the upgrades. All the exposed bearings are also sealed so the systems are now safe to wash and use under heavy rain conditions.
 
WARRANTY 
2-year warranty starts on day of delivery. Man made failures and use of this product with a system not supplied by CYCMotor Ltd will not be supported or warrantied.
